Pebbles
Pebbles was created in 2004 as a mirror program of Stepping Stones Family for children ages 4 and under along with their parents. The program is an innovative early childhood program that introduces interfaith families to Judaism and is a stimulating and creative setting for young children to learn about the Jewish religion and culture.
Pebbles semesters run September through December and January through May. The program provides a year-long program calendar which includes family gatherings and a series of parent discussion groups.
Together, parents and children participate in family gatherings where they learn about Judaism by engaging in five sensory curricula. This approach helps stimulate and strengthen a child's identity and self-esteem through creative, hands-on learning and exploration of their heritage.
Pebbles participants also attend parent discussion groups and family events with Stepping Stones Family participants.
Parents attend classes about Jewish life and discuss issues such as barriers into the Jewish community and how to respect your partner's personal history.
For the 2010-11 school year, Pebbles is meeting once a month on Sunday morning. Please refer to the calendar page for details.
